In 2018, we raised over $700,000 for Planned Parenthood LA at our largest, most successful Gala to date at the prestigious Marciano Art Foundation, honoring celebrated contemporary artist Jenny Holzer. The evening featured 1300 attendees, an expansive silent art auction, a variety show with comedy, dance and musical performances, and cuisine from LA’s most beloved restaurants.
This celebration of art and culture featured:
- Performances by comedian Kate Berlant, musicians Moses Sumney and Kelsey Lu, the No)one. Art House dance company, and an epic DJ set from HAIM.
- A silent auction with over 50 coveted artworks, design objects and experiences including works from Analia Saban, Brian Calvin, Christina Quarles, Harold Ancart, John Baldessari and Rebecca Morris.
- Cuisine from celebrated chefs and caterers including Jon & Vinny’s, Kismet, Sqirl, Botanica, Honey Hi and Hank & Bean.
- Activations including a photo booth designed by artist Awol Erizku, on-site art installations from Jennifer Steinkamp and Tofer Chin, a pop-up shop co-curated by cult boutique LCD, and floral adornments from the Hand & Rose truck.
In lieu of a live auction, the 2018 Gala fundraiser was preceded by our first-ever Private Sale, with donated artworks from seven internationally-renowned contemporary artists including Cecily Brown, Claire Tabouret, Derek Fordjour, Ed Ruscha, Jonas Wood, Jen Guidi and Jennifer Steinkamp.
